What Exactly do we do?

Curio is a branding and design studio in the Pacific Northwest, led by Maddie Ferraro and a hand-picked bench of seriously good people (plus Fable, our resident crow, who contributes mostly judgment and stolen objects). We work with businesses that were never meant to fit in, and we build the kind of brands that make someone stop mid-scroll and go "okay, who is that?"

A collection of colorful stickers on a wooden surface, including one that says "There's more to explore," another featuring two fish and the text "Go the fishing," and others with various designs and messages.
Sign with the text "Persimmon Lane, Natural & Citrusy," surrounded by leaves and greenery.

Here's where we come in

Brand Identity

The face of your business. The logo, type, color, and visual system that make your brand recognizable at a glance. Designed to hold up across every place your audience will meet you and grow as your business does.

Brand Strategy

The thinking underneath the work. Positioning, voice, audience, and the messaging pillars that define what your brand actually means. Strategy is the spine every Curio project gets built on.

Creative Direction

A guiding hand for the bigger picture. Ongoing creative leadership for brands that need a steady point of view across campaigns, content, and channels. Your brand story doesn't start and end with the identity or one project.

Print & Packaging

This is where people get to interact with your brand in their hands, literally. Packaging, labels, flyers, signage, and whatever else we might dream up. Designed in-studio and produced with our local print partners.

One-Off Projects

Focused work for brands already in play. One-off collateral, campaigns, and creative builds for clients with their identity already in place. Same strategic storytelling, scoped to the project at hand.

Brand Partnership

Once we create a brand you love, you'll unlock the option for ongoing creative stewardship. A long-term partnership that keeps your visual world cohesive as your business grows.

stay in touch.

Occasional emails. New work, new shop drops, behind-the-scenes stories. No spam, mostly because we don't have the time to write any.

Crows love traffic

Some crows in Japan figured out that cars are nutcrackers. They drop walnuts in crosswalks during red lights, wait for the cars to crack them, then collect the food when the light turns red. They use the crosswalk. They wait for the light. They obey traffic law. They're better at this than most humans.

Curiosity cabinets were real rooms

In the 1500s, wealthy curious folks built entire rooms called cabinets of curiosities (or wunderkammer in German). They filled them with strange objects: fossils, taxidermy, art, religious relics, anything that sparked wonder. Modern museums basically grew out of these. We just keep ours digital. (And occasionally hand it to strangers at networking events.)

If something here sparked your curiosity, don't let it die in a browser tab. Tell us about the idea you can't quite shake, the brand that's almost-but-not-quite-there, the thing you've been obsessing over lately. Worst case, it's a fun conversation (maybe coffee will be included). Best case, it's your new favorite project.
